This is a key issue for me. I only select tanneries that are known for:
their commitment to animal welfare,
their commitment to environmental sustainability throughout the entire tanning process.
I use only naturally vegetable-tanned leather, which minimizes the environmental impact.
When designing my pieces, I place a high priority on their durability: each item is crafted to last, as a way to honor the animal from which the leather comes. For this reason, I include a nourishing balm with every piece to help you care for it over time.

To help your leather items last longer, here are a few tips:
Condition them regularly with a balm or cream specifically designed for leather.
Avoid prolonged exposure to sunlight, excessive heat, or humidity.
When the item is not in use, store it in a breathable cover (or cotton bag).
If stains appear, gently dab them with a soft, slightly damp cloth—do not rub.
And of course, feel free to check out my articles on making your own homemade leather conditioner and on leather care in the “In the Workshop” section.

Yes. Every Darven piece is designed to last. I offer a maintenance and repair service specifically for my creations. The saddle-stitch construction allows for clean re-sewing of any element if necessary (strap, loop, wallet edge, etc.). It is also possible to refresh or restore a patina, as well as to renovate leather that has been marked by time (cleaning, conditioning, edge repair, etc.).
If your item needs attention, simply contact me with a few photos and a description of what you need. I can then let you know what can be done, the estimated timeframe, and provide a personalized quote. This service has two goals: to extend the life of your Darven piece and allow you to wear it for many years to come.
